Administration & City Manager's Office
The City Manager's office provides leadership and oversight for the administration of all City services and activities. The Manager's office supports the City Council and directs activities of all City departments.
The City Attorney's office provides a full range of legal services to the City Council, City Manager, department directors and City advisory groups.
The City Clerk's office acts as an official information source and repository of public documents. The Clerk maintains custody of the City seal, handles codification of the City Code, maintains and catalogs City records, manages all municipal elections and voter registration, and accepts passport applications.
Community Services & Recreation
Community Services and Recreation Department brings quality of life programs to the community. Whether it is adult or youth recreational sports, classes, parks, rental facilities, senior activities, social services or opportunities to volunteer within the community.
The Finance Department is responsible for all aspects of the City's accounting process, preparation of the City Budget document, payroll administration, investment management, data processing and purchasing review.
It is the mission of the Avalon Fire Department to preserve life, property and the environment through leadership, management and actions, as an all risk life safety response provider.
The Harbor Department is responsible for assigning moorings, providing security and enforcement of state and local laws, maintaining a fleet of boats, floats and structures on the waterfront, administering waterside business permits and scheduling dock times for commercial passenger vessels.

In partnership with our community, the Public Works Department is committed to providing the highest level of service to construct, maintain and enhance public facilities, programs and infrastructure in a cost-effective manner. The Public Works Department maintains the City's public landscaping, parks and public buildings.
The Vehicles Department is responsible for vehicle registration and related resources.
