We as a company are focusing on the health and safety of our employees and our customers. We are working with and following the guidance of government health authorities and the CDC.
    Because of the nature of our business and our part in the supply chain we will do everything in our power to continue providing the community with same day service until the government states we can no longer fly.   • New public scale hours at the landfill as of 3-23-2020 will be Monday thru Friday from 1pm to 3pm only. Established charge or credit/ debit card only. Restricted access to the office due to strict observance of safe distancing. Please keep to California's current "Stay at Home" order and limit trips to essential loads only. 
    As of 3-21-2020 the Residential Household Hazardous Waste Facility will be closed till further notice. Please do not dispose of your household haz-mat items, particularly batteries, in your regular trash as this makes for dangerous conditions for all the trash crews.

    On behalf of everyone at Catalina Beverage, our hearts go out to all those impacted by COVID-19--this includes not only those diagnosed with the virus but also their friends and family, those whose jobs and schools have been impacted and so many more. Our number one focus is, as always, on the health and safety of our employees, customers and our community. Our team is in place and managing our response to COVID-19. We are working with and following the guidance of government health authorities. 

    We have also taken steps to ensure Catalina Beverage is prepared to protect our supply chain and maintain business continuity. We will do everything in our power to continue providing our community with products and services. We have increased our inventory levels on products that we think that our community needs and is unable to find anywhere else in town. Our suppliers have stepped up and are helping us providing increased levels on water, paper products, cleaning supplies, rice, beans any and all essential items you all have been buying and many more. Just like our community we have;
    - Implemented measures that encourage proper hygiene and cleanliness at both of our facilities
    - Encouraged any employees that flu-like symptoms to stay home and not to come work
    - Discouraged any large-scale gatherings of our employees
    - Limited externals visitors to our facilities.

    We also are aware of other cities, counties are being issued “Shelter In Place” orders. Because of the nature of our business and what we provide to the community we are “Exempt” from those orders. If need to be we will step up and start doing home deliveries to those in need.
    There is no question that this is a time of great uncertainty. While we don’t know exactly what the future may hold, we feel confident that by sticking together and supporting each other, we will emerge from this stronger than before.

    Below are ways Catalina Broadband is helping to keep you connected:
     
    Network Reliability and Performance is of utmost importance, we have our network engineers, operation centers and maintenance crews working daily to ensure that our services continue to perform as you expect and need.
     
    Catalina Broadband Wi-Fi Hotspots are available at no cost to customers for the next 60 days through May 30, 2020. The hotspots will be open and free to all community members. To join the hotspot use the password "RONA2020" once you have connected to the hotspot and are prompted for it.
     
    More entertainment is available in all television packages during a free preview period to keep you and your family entertained while at home. You will be able to enjoy the Hallmark Channel (99), Outdoor Channel (118), NBC Universo (35), Oxygen (191), CNN (152), CNBC (154), MSNBC (153) in many instances thru May 13th. We are exploring making other channels available as well. 
     
    School Partnerships. We have partnered with the Long Beach School district and Avalon Schools to offer 10Mbps Internet service to make sure students who need Internet access for their education have it available to them for the remainder of the school year. 
     
    Keeping Customers & Employees Safe
    Your patience is appreciated as enact new guidelines to help keep customers and employees safe and healthy:
     
    Office Hours at the Metropole location for walk in service has been temporarily suspended in Avalon to help maintain social distancing. Customer Care remains available by phone 877.202.1491 and 24/7 technical support remains available.
     
    Technicians while maintaining social distancing, are conducting service calls for essential services only during this period. Other safety precautions include our technicians performing frequent hand washing and using hand sanitizer and gloves.
     
    Work from home has begun to support the statewide public health efforts. We've instituted telework for employees who are able to work from home. Please be aware that, as always, quality customer care remains one of our highest priorities.

State of California COVID-19 Responses

California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV)

  • DMV has canceled the April visit to Avalon. 
    The purpose of this memo is to notify parking and toll agencies of a possible delay in driver license (DL) and identification (ID) card renewals and vehicle registration (VR) transactions. 
    The Department of Motor Vehicles has closed all field offices. Starting April 2, they will be providing services only virtually.
    As of March 16, 2020, law enforcement will be exercising flexibility for 60 days when reviewing expired driver licenses and vehicle registration records.
    The deadline to apply for a Real ID has been extended to October 1, 2021.
