City of Avalon Fire Department
The City of Avalon Fire Department was established in 1917 after a major fire leveled most of the city. The department started with volunteers and eventually hired a fulltime Fire Chief. Currently the department consists of a Fire Chief, 3 Captains, 3 Engineers, 3 Firefighters, and 25 paid call Firefighters.
